What is an IBAN and How Does it Work with Gnosis Pay ?

This article explains what an IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is and how it allows you to send EUR to your Gnosis Pay Safe via SEPA transfer. It also covers automatic conversion to EURe, processing times, transfer limits, and eligibility.

 

Gnosis Pay offers the ability to link an IBAN that allows you (or others) to send EUR directly from a traditional bank account. This IBAN is provied by Monerium.

These funds are automatically converted into EURe, a regulated euro-backed stablecoin, and deposited into your EOA wallet which can then be sent to your Gnosis Card Safe — ready to spend.


IMPORTANT: 

If you already have an IBAN with Monerium the only way to link it to your GnosisPay account will be through one of our Partner Apps (so it links to the app wallet that is the owner of your Gnosis Pay Card Safe or Via the Monerium dashboard itself where you can manually select which wallet the owner belongs to.

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a standardised code used to identify individual bank accounts across countries.


It ensures funds sent from one bank to another reach the correct recipient safely and efficiently.

 

 

🔗 How the Gnosis Pay IBAN Works

Your Gnosis Pay IBAN acts as a direct on-ramp to your crypto wallet.

 

🔁 Three-Step Flow:

  1. Send EUR via SEPA Transfer

    • Anyone (including you) can send EUR from a bank account to your personal IBAN

  2. Automatic 1:1 Conversion to EURe

    • Funds are instantly converted to EURe upon arrival

    • No exchange rate loss (1 EUR = 1 EURe)

  3. Spend Instantly

    • The EURe is deposited directly into your EOA wallet linked to your GnosisPay Safe

    • Funds can then be moved directly to your Card Safe ready to be used with your Gnosis Pay Card
