This article explains the two main ways to fund your Gnosis Card Safe: by using a SEPA bank transfer via your personal IBAN (fiat on-ramp), or by converting cryptocurrency into stablecoins (crypto on-ramp). It links to detailed instructions for each path.
Before you can start spending with your Gnosis Pay Card, you need to fund your Gnosis Card Safe.
This is your self-custodial smart contract wallet that holds supported stablecoins:
EURe, GBPe, or USDCe
There are two main ways to top it up, depending on what type of money youβre starting with:
πΆ Option 1: Fund with a Bank Transfer (Fiat On-Ramp)
The easiest method for users starting with euros in a traditional bank account.
How it works:
You send EUR via SEPA transfer to your personal IBAN
The funds are automatically converted 1:1 to EURe
EURe is deposited into the wallet address linked to your IBAN
Send funds from the linked wallet to your Pay SAFE wallet to spend with card.
π Best for: Users who want to move funds directly from their bank to Gnosis Pay
π See full guide: Funding with a Bank Transfer (IBAN)
π Option 2: Fund with Cryptocurrency (Crypto On-Ramp)
If you already hold crypto, you can convert it into the stablecoins needed for card payments.
Two common paths:
Swapping tokens directly on Gnosis Chain
Bridging funds from another blockchain (e.g., Ethereum or Polygon) into Gnosis Chain
π Best for: Users who are comfortable using DeFi tools like bridges and DEXs
