Making Secure Online Payments with 3D Secure

When you shop online with your Gnosis Pay Card, an extra layer of security called 3D Secure helps protect you from fraud.

Also known as Visa Secure or 3DS, this is a standard verification step for online payments that ensures it’s really you making the purchase.

🛡 What Is 3D Secure?

Think of it as a digital PIN for your online transactions.

• Required by Visa and international regulations

• Helps verify your identity when the card isn’t physically present

• Prevents fraud and adds confidence when paying online

🔄 How the Verification Process Works

When you pay on a website that supports 3D Secure, here’s what happens:

1. Enter Your Card Details

   • Enter your card number, expiry date, and CVV

2. Wait for the Security Prompt

   • A secure Gnosis Pay pop-up will appear

   • This is your 3D Secure verification screen

3. Verify Your Identity

   • A one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent to your registered phone number via SMS

   • Enter the code to approve the transaction

4. Complete the Purchase

   • Once verified, your payment is processed and you’re returned to the merchant’s confirmation page

🛠 Troubleshooting Common 3D Secure Issues

Issue: I didn’t receive the OTP code

✅ Try these steps:

• Check your mobile signal strength

• Use the “Resend Code” option if available

• Make sure your registered mobile number is up to date in your Gnosis Pay account

  An outdated phone number is the most common cause

Issue: My transaction was declined after entering the code

This may happen if:

• The OTP was entered incorrectly

• The code had expired

• Your card is currently frozen in the app

✅ Solutions:

• Try the payment again and enter the new code carefully

• Check your card status in the app — unfreeze if needed

• If the issue persists, contact support
