Do you have to do anything?

Only if you want to keep using a card. Moving to a partner card program is optional. But your Gnosis Pay card will stop working.

Will you lose access to your assets?

No. Your Safe is self-custodial and the assets in it remain yours.

2. What is changing, and why

Gnosis Pay is ending its consumer-facing services to focus fully on our enterprise card programs.

  • The Gnosis Pay web app will close for everything excluding withdrawals.

  • The Gnosis Pay card will be retired in favour of partner cards.

In 2025 Gnosis Pay moved from a consumer card focus to delivering card programs for wallets, fintechs and neobanks. That side of the business is growing and we can't maintain consumer interfaces to the standard we'd want alongside it. By focusing fully on our partner offering, we’re able to offer them better card programs that they can then use to serve you. The new Gnosis Pay system that partner apps are upgrading to now includes things like instant reversals, instant withdrawals, better privacy, and closes coverage gaps. Ultimately we believe this renewed focus is in the interest of Gnosis Pay, our partner apps, and you.

We are giving you this notice now so that you have as much time as possible to make arrangements while the web app is still available.

3. Who is sending this notice, and who provides your card

This notice is sent by Gnosis Pay.

Your card is issued, and the payment services under your framework contract (that is, the Monavate Cardholder Terms) are provided, by:

  • UK and other applicable non-EEA cardholders: Monavate Ltd, an electronic money institution authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (firm reference number 901097).

  • EEA cardholders: UAB Monavate, an electronic money institution authorised and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania (authorisation code LB002139).

Gnosis Pay acts as a technical services provider and card program manager for Monavate, and provides the card management platform that you currently access either through the Gnosis Pay web app or through integrations with partner applications.

Gnosis Pay is sending this notice on Monavate's behalf as well as its own. Where this notice refers to your rights as a payment services customer, those rights are against Monavate as the licensed issuer.

4. When your card will stop working

Your Gnosis Pay card, including any physical card and any virtual card, will cease to function at 23:59 UTC on 20 December 2026.

From that moment, no further transactions of any kind can be authorised on the card. This applies whether or not you take any of the steps described in this notice.

5. What this means for your contract

Your current card is provided under a framework contract between you and Monavate (the Monavate Cardholder Terms), with Gnosis Pay as program manager.

Once the partner program goes live, they will notify you, inviting you to join. If you decide to join a partner card program, you should be aware that it will not be a continuation or variation of the contractual arrangements you have with us and Monavate now. It will be a new card program, issued under a new set of terms, with its own eligibility rules, supported currencies and blockchains, FX arrangements, transaction limits, fees and rewards. Those may differ from the terms that apply to your current Gnosis Pay card.

For that reason, moving to a partner card program involves:

  1. entering into a new framework contract with Monavate that is tailored to the relevant partner program; and

  2. bringing your existing arrangement to an end.

If you choose to join a card program in future via one of our partners, the migration and onboarding process will ask you to:

  • (a) review and accept new terms, including cardholder terms and any partner program-specific terms; and

  • (b) confirm the deactivation of your current Gnosis Pay card and the termination of the related cardholder agreement.

You are not obliged to do either. If you do nothing, your Gnosis Pay card will simply stop working on the date given above, and that cardholder agreement will come to an end. You will keep all rights that survive the end of that agreement, including your rights in relation to refunds, disputed transactions and complaints.

6. What happens to your card, your transactions and your assets

Physical cards. Your physical card will stop working at the cessation date and time. It cannot be reactivated. Please destroy it securely after that date, cutting through the chip and the magnetic stripe.

Virtual cards. Any virtual card will stop working at the same moment. Any virtual card details you have saved in a digital wallet or with a merchant will no longer authorise transactions.

Recurring payments and subscriptions. Any recurring payment, subscription or continuous payment authority set up with your Gnosis Pay card will fail after the cessation date. Gnosis Pay and Monavate cannot transfer these to another card. You must update the card details directly with each merchant. We recommend you review your subscriptions well before 20 December 2026 and make a list of them.

Pending and unsettled transactions. Transactions authorised before the cessation date but not yet settled will be allowed to complete in the normal way. Any authorisation hold that has not been settled will be released in accordance with the applicable card scheme rules.

Refunds. A refund from a merchant that arrives after your card has been deactivated cannot be used for a card transaction. If this happens, contact us using the details in section 9. Keep your receipts and the merchant's refund confirmation.

Disputed transactions and chargebacks. The cessation of your card does not affect your rights in relation to unauthorised or incorrectly executed transactions, or your chargeback rights under the applicable card scheme rules. You can continue to raise a dispute in respect of a transaction made on your Gnosis Pay card using the contact details in section 9. Card scheme time limits continue to apply to individual transactions, so please raise any dispute as soon as you become aware of it.

Transaction history. Your transaction history will remain available in the Gnosis Pay web app until the web app closes at 23:59 UTC on 20 December 2026, at the same moment as when new card transaction authorisations will not be allowed. Please download or export your transaction history, and make a note of your card's last four digits and expiry date, before that date. You will need this information to support any refund, dispute or chargeback raised afterwards. Monavate will continue to hold transaction records for the period required by law, and you can request a copy from Monavate at any time within that period.

Your Safe and your assets. Your Safe is a self-custodial smart contract account on Gnosis Chain. The assets held in it are yours, and neither Gnosis Pay nor Monavate can take them or prevent you from moving them. The end of the card program does not affect your ownership of, or access to, those assets. Transfers from the Safe must be authorized by you alone and may be subject to blockchain network fees.

  • You can withdraw your assets at any time through the Gnosis Pay web app. The withdrawal functionality will remain open on the web app after the card and the rest of the web app’s functionality are wound up on 20 December 2026.

  • You continue to control the Safe with your existing signer key, and can also access it through any compatible third-party Safe interface.

We recommend that you withdraw your assets from your Safe, or confirm that you can access it independently of the web app, before 20 December 2026. But the withdrawal functionality will be maintained after the web app closes.

Further information can be found at any time at help.gnosispay.com.

7. If you want to keep using a card: what you need to do

Your Gnosis Pay card will stop working on 20 December 2026. To continue using a card powered by Gnosis Pay after that date, you will need to sign up with a partner app and receive a new card from that partner under their own program.

We encourage you to migrate your current Gnosis Pay card away from the web app by signing up to one of the partners that will offer their own card program in future, and importing your existing Gnosis Pay card and Safe account into their partner app. This interim step keeps your existing contractual terms active while preparing you for a smoother transition when the partner program goes live.

Moving to a partner app is optional. Your existing card will stop working on 20 December 2026 whether or not you move.

Available partner programs and how to join them are listed 📄 Which apps you can move to. Each partner sets its own terms, so please compare them before choosing.

If you decide to move, you will need to:

  1. Choose a partner app and start its onboarding process.

  2. Review and accept the new terms, including new cardholder terms. Read the sections on fees, FX, limits, supported currencies and rewards, as these may differ from your current terms.

  3. Complete any identity or compliance checks required. Some cardholders may need to complete additional identity or compliance checks when onboarding to a partner program. If this applies to you, the migration / onboarding process will explain any information or documents that are required.

  4. Confirm deactivation of your Gnosis Pay card and termination of your Gnosis Pay cardholder agreement, as part of the migration flow.

  5. Deploy your new Safe and fund it. This is a separate account from your current Safe. Moving assets between them is your decision and is carried out by you.

  6. Activate your new card and, if you use one, add it to your digital wallet.

  7. Update your recurring payment mandates and subscriptions with each merchant, using your new card details.

  8. Review any pending or reversed transactions on your Gnosis Pay legacy card and make sure nothing is outstanding.

  9. Keep a record of your transactions and card details (the last four digits and the expiry date), so that you can support any refund, dispute or chargeback raised after 20 December 2026.
