Gnosis Pay enables self-custody of funds on Gnosis Chain, allowing direct withdrawals via app.gnosispay.com/withdraw, even if account access is restricted or deactivated. This two-step process involves queuing and executing a withdrawal with a 3-minute delay, requiring the user to pay gas fees. Funds remain under user control and cannot be frozen or seized by Gnosis Pay. Users must verify destination addresses carefully, as transactions are irreversible and the system only supports Gnosis Chain.
Gnosis Pay is built on self-custody principles: your funds live in a Safe on Gnosis Chain and are always under your control, regardless of your account status with us.
The direct withdrawal page at app.gnosispay.com/withdraw lets you move funds out of your Safe by interacting with the Delay Module directly - without going through the Gnosis Pay app or API. It works even if your account access has been restricted, your KYC application was rejected, or your account has been deactivated.
✅ Your funds are always yours
Gnosis Pay cannot freeze or seize the funds in your Safe. This withdrawal path is a permanent feature of the self-custodial design - not a workaround. This is part of our open-source initiative that can be seen here.
When to use this
This page is intended for situations where the standard app flow is unavailable to you:
- Your Gnosis Pay account access has been restricted or deactivated
- Your KYC application received a final rejection and you need to retrieve your balance
- You prefer to interact with the Delay Module directly rather than through our interface
If your account is fully active, using Send Funds inside the webapp is simpler - it handles gas and the two-step flow automatically.
What you will need
- The signing wallet connected to your Gnosis Card Safe (the owner wallet)
- A small amount of xDAI in that wallet to cover gas — you'll pay for two separate transactions
- The destination address you want to withdraw to (on Gnosis Chain)
How it works
The direct withdrawal flow has two stages because of how the Delay Module works: you first queue a transaction, wait for the delay period to pass and then execute it.
Step 1 - Queue the withdrawal
- Go to app.gnosispay.com/withdraw.
- Connect the signing wallet that owns your Safe.
- Enter the amount and destination address.
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet - this queues the withdrawal through the Delay Module and incurs a gas fee.
Step 2 - Execute the withdrawal
- Wait for the 3-minute delay period to pass
- Return to app.gnosispay.com/withdraw
- Execute the queued transaction - this is a second on-chain transaction and incurs a second gas fee
- Your funds will arrive at the destination address
| Standard Send Funds | Direct Withdrawal Page | |
| Requires active app access | Yes | No |
| Gas fees | Abstracted away | Paid directly by you (×2) |
| Number of transactions | 1 | 2 |
| Delay period | Handled automatically | You return to execute manually |
| Network | Gnosis Chain | Gnosis Chain |
Important Notes
Double-check your destination address. Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Funds sent to the wrong address cannot be recovered by Gnosis Pay or anyone else. Take extra care to verify the address before confirming.
Gnosis Chain only: your destination wallet must support Gnosis Chain. Sending to an address on a different network may result in permanent loss of funds.
This does not restore app access: completing a direct withdrawal does not change your account status, KYC outcome, or any restrictions applied to your Gnosis Pay account.
The 3-minute delay is a security feature: it exists to protect your funds and cannot be bypassed.
